Cyril M. Theccanat is President and Chief Investment Officer of Smith Graham & Company. He is Chairman of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee and a member of the Executive Committee. Cyril has over 21 years of experience in the investment management business. At Smith Graham, Cyril is directly responsible for the management and oversight of the investment teams that manage nearly $6 billion in global fixed income and equity portfolios for institutional clients. Prior to joining Smith Graham, Cyril was a Managing Director and Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager for over 13 years with U.S. Trust Company in New York. He was directly responsible for managing $2.4 billion in the Institutional Fixed Income Division. Prior to U.S. Trust, Cyril was a Vice President at Drexel Burnham Lambert where he was responsible for foreign exchange risk and interest rate risk management. Earlier in his career, Cyril was a senior consultant for 6 years with Chase Econometrics where he developed a variety of econometric-based models including multivariate regression and time-series models for clients in the financial, technology, utility and consumer goods industries.

Peter Heine, Co-Head of Fixed Income for Smith Graham, is a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager. Peter has over 17 years experience in the investment industry. In his role as Co-Head of Fixed Income, he has a leadership role at both Smith Graham’s New York location as well as the Houston location. Prior to joining Smith Graham, Peter was a Managing Director with Ark Asset Management Co., Inc. For over 13 years, he has developed and managed fixed income portfolios across the yield curve with a special focus on the credit sector. Peter’s prior experience includes positions at both Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc. as well as NY LIFE Securities, Inc. Peter has completed Level I of the CFA programand has his B.S. from the University of Connecticut. Immediately after completing his degree, Peter did a two-year stint as a professional hockey player in the East Coast Hockey League.

Paresh Jain is a Vice President and Portfolio Manager. He is a co-portfolio manager for the firm’s broad market fixed income portfolios. With his 12 years of experience in the global capital markets, Paresh is a specialist in the credit sector as well as the non-dollar sector including currencies. Before joining the fixed income team, Paresh was an equity analyst at Smith Graham and covered the technology, industrial, and telecommunication sectors. He began his career as a market-maker on the floor of the Bombay Stock Exchange for M/S Shantilal C. Karnawat in Bombay, India. Later Paresh was an Investment Advisor at M/S Harshad H. Gandhi in Bombay, India. In his last position prior to joining Smith Graham, Paresh was an Equity Trader for Joindre Capital Services alsoin Bombay, India. Paresh received his MBA from the Jones School ofManagement at Rice University. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Edward’s University and his Bachelor of Commerce from the University ofBombay. Paresh is a Level III CFA candidate.

Mitchell T. Wilbanks is a Vice President and Portfolio Manager. He has over 6 years of experience with institutional cash and low duration portfolios. At Smith Graham, Mitchell is responsible for managing Cash Management, Enhanced Cash and Low Duration portfolios. He is also responsible for trading money market andGovernment securities. Prior to joining the firm, he served asa Financial Analyst with First Southwest Co., in Austin, Texas. His responsibilities included coordinating investment reporting for 25 institutional fixed income portfolios with assets totaling over $6 billion. Mitchell also monitored on a daily basis, 20 primary and regional dealers for holdings including agency, treasury, and commercial paper securities. He assisted in trade operations and documentation, and consulted on special projects including: benchmark analyses, historical spreads, cashflows, income/yield analyses, credit analyses, and policy comparisons. He received an MBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University and a BBA inFinance from the University of Texas at Austin. Mitchell is a CFA charterholder and has also received Series 7 and 66 NASD Licenses.

At Smith Graham, George is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and makingrelative value recommendations in the securitized fixed income sectors including mortgage-backed, asset-backed, commercial mortgage-backed, and CMO securities. Prior to joining the firm, George served as an Analyst and Trader with Coastal Securities in Houston, Texas. At Coastal, his responsibilities included the relative value analysis of securities in the securitized sectors including mortgage-backed, adjustable rate mortgages, and collateralized mortgage securities. He also served as a CMO trader. George received an MS in Finance from the University of Houston at Clear Lake and BBA in Management from the University of Texas at Austin. He has also received Series 7 and 63 NASD Licenses.
